"My work as a professional climber, mountaineer, skier, photographer, & director takes me to some extreme locations worldwide. One of my favorite places to film both from the ground and air is in the remote backcountry of Patagonia, Chile. When aerial filming, I fly with bush pilot Rodrigo Noriega. He understands my needs for light and position, and his experience and expertise flying small aircraft in this wild terrain is second to none. I highly recommend Rodrigo & Aeroalerce for unique flying adventures and expeditions in Patagonia. "As part of America Natural, my 15-year photographic and editorial project, I have photographed the most beautiful & natural regions in all of the Americas. In 2003 I started to photograph the parks created by Conservation Land Trust in Chile and Argentina. These parks are remote and isolated and the only way to photograph them is by air.

It was then, I was fortunate enough to start flying with Rodrigo Noriega in the Chilean & Argentina Patagonia, and Tierra de Fuego. Now after producing aerial images for 4 books, flying thousands of hours over 15 years with Rodrigo dedicated to aerial photography, I can say that he is the most professional pilot I have flown with during my career.

His knowledge of the region and its weather gives me the security and assurance that I need to create my photos. I hope we can have many more flights together."

Flying over Patagonia with Rodrigo Noriega is both a pleasure, and a privilege, and for me, the ideal way to see, and to photograph, this uniquely stunning landscape. I have been lucky enough to make many flights with Rodrigo, from Puerto Montt all the way to the Southern Ice Field, covering all of Aysen and Palena- initially to make photographs for my book, La Carretera Austral, and over the years, to create photos for many other books, as well as to document the newly created Patagonia National Park, and the exceptional infrastructure of Pumalin Park farther north for forthcoming books on those new National Parks. With Rodrigo I have been able to photograph Patagonia from above in every season, documenting one of the wildest. most unspoiled landscapes on earth. These flights have always been a fruitful collaboration. A photographer himself, Rodrigo knows how to put the plane in just the right space, at just the right angle, to obtain memorable images. I can't think of any better way to see and photograph the magical terrain of Patagonia, or any better pilot to do it with, than Rodrigo Noriega.
